NYC Vegetarian Food Fest + Without Walls Launch
There are so many reasons to love living in NYC. The Vegetarian Food Fest is one of them. This past Saturday I attended with my friends Isaiah and Andrea (left in picture) and had an incredible, fulfilling day. The best way to describe my experience is to compare it to the excited feeling I get when I attend NYC Comic Con dressed as a sci-fi character. NY Veg Fest was basically my vegetarian comic book convention - and there was even a woman dressed as a tomato.
Please see Andrea below….I call this "Carnivore in Veg Lights":
Amongst all of the soulful exhibitors, there are a few in particular that I want to shout out:
BeFreegle Foundation - This is a unique organization that provides rehabilitation for dogs formerly used in research facilities. The dogs are fostered and familiarized with their new lives until they are ready to be adopted. Thank you, Kate, for letting us meet your sweetheart pup Juno!!
Nuttin Ordinary - Delicioso! Though I am not a vegan, I do oftentimes opt for vegan alternatives. This 100% raw vegan "cheese" spread is made out of raw cashews. The texture is hummus-like and the nutritional yeast (high in B-vitamins!) gives it the cheesy flavor.
VEGA Sequels Natural - I have never been a protein shake fan, but this nutritional shake is made exclusively from plant-based whole food ingredients. I am very impressed with how this company has been able to pack in so much protein, omega-3, fiber, antioxidants and greens into one serving while keeping it free of preservatives and artificial flavors. There is no added sugar and the taste is not bad at all!
After the Veg Fest, we decided to stop in to see the newly launched activewear line "Without Walls" currently in select Urban Oufitters across the country.
All of the URBN corporate brands have had a spell on me since day one. Aesthetically, it is cool with exciting prints and flattering silhouettes. Also, many of the brands they are collaborating with are some of my absolute favorites (I love Onzie)!
