How I Keep My Skin Healthy When I Travel
It's halfway through the year, and I've been quite the lil globe trotter. Since January, I've traveled to Kentucky (my hometown!), San Francisco, Bali (read my travel guide here), and just recently Portland for a work trip. I have several more trips planned (and unplanned) through the rest of the year, so I can't wait to share more on that later.
You guys know I love traveling, but one tricky thing to manage is skincare. When you fly, you're exposed to a lot of different germs and climates, so my skin and overall body tends to take a hit - especially when I'm off my normal routine. Since I've traveled so much this year, I've learned a lot about what my skin LOVES... and that's oil. Every day and night.
Introducing: 100% Squalane Oil from Biossance
Our bodies naturally produce a version of Squalane, but the amount we make and retain decreases overtime. Squalane originated as a staple in the Korean beauty market (shoutout to my hapas out there!), but it was harvested from shark livers (eeeeek). Thankfully today, scientists are able to create a 100% plant-based Squalane that is sustainably derived from sugarcane.
Beyond the fact that it's anti-aging, it's incredibly healthy for your skin. It's a very potent antioxidant and helps reverse damage from free-radicals. I also love how quickly it absorbs into the skin, so you can apply it during the day without feeling like a greasy greaseball. I carry it around with me, so after I work out I rinse off my face and apply it while my pores are still open.
I'm a big believer in using natural oils on your skin daily. Every oil has different healing properties, but overall, oils are moisturizing, nourishing, and detoxifying. My current favorite from Biossance is the Squalane + Vitamic C Rose Oil. I've been using Vitamin C on my skin for a few years now, so I love adding Squalane into my daily routine.
Want to try it for yourself? Biossance is offering FREE samples of both the 100% Squalane Oil and the Squalane + Vitamin C Rose Oil (see actual samples above). Follow this link to sample it, and let me know what you think!
