Easy Salmon Patty Recipe (GF, DF, Egg-Free)

IMG_0945.JPG

Alrighty, you guys were sliding into my DM's asking for my salmon patty recipe, so here it is! My mom used to make this all the time, but I subbed out a few ingredients to accommodate my allergies. This recipe is gluten-free, egg-free (if you want!), and naturally dairy-free.

What you'll need:

  • One 14.75 oz can of wild salmon (or two 6 oz cans): Trader Joes has a decent canned salmon and Whole Foods carries good sustainble brands like Wild Planet. If it has bones, they are soft from the canning process and super good for you! So, crush 'em up in the mix!

  • 1 Egg OR Egg Replacement: 1 Tbsp of Ground Flax to 3 Tbsp of water (set aside in a separate bowl for 5 minutes)

  • 1/2 cup of Bob's Red Mill almond flour: Keep adding more if the mixture is too wet. Needs to be able to form into patties without being too 'goopy'.

  • Season with pink Himalayan sea salt, pepper, garlic powder, and whatever else you like! Scallions, parsley, onions... throwing out ideas for ya.

How to Make:

  • Mix all ingredients in a bowl and start making little patties. About 1 heaping Tbsp per patty works for me.

  • Heat up some avocado oil and pan-fry each side until golden brown. Approx. 5-8 minutes on each side.

That's it! Super simple, delicious, and packed with nutrients! You can eat it with a side of veggies, potatoes, or throw it into a salad. If you make it, let me know. I love seeing your creations.
